This weekend I was treated to a child free day out to the fabulous WonderWoolWales - a festival dedicated to all things woolly! Situated at the Royal Welsh Showground in Builth Wells and with an emphasis on natural fibres in all their glory this is a great day out for the crafty!
There was plenty to see. I loved watching the spinners and weavers practising their craft with skill that made it all look so easy...

Blog Togs - Back to Basics
I picked up a lovely book the other week - Digital Photography Step by Step by Tom Ang
I have been meaning to get something like this ever since I bought my new camera last summer. Suddenly I have all these settings to play with but I really don't have a clue what it all means so have stuck with the auto settings, relied quite heavily on editing software and hoped for the best. To be fair I think I have had some pretty good results so far but I know my camera can do so much better. I know I can do so much better!

That's not my wardrobe (part two)
A few weeks back I told you about my wardrobe and how I don't feel like it actually belongs to me. I have been meaning to do something about it ever since, so today, as the Little Man woke me up extra early ( a special Sunday morning treat... ), I thought I might as well take the bull by the horns and have a clear out..

April Showers...
What's the definition of stubborn?
Continuing to hang the washing out even though it has just started to rain. Again.
The rain has been getting me down these past couple of weeks. After the wash out Easter weekend I half hoped that the weather, being the perverse creature it is, would perk up a bit once the kids went back to school. I really wanted to get into the garden and tidy up a bit, plant a few things, get ready for *whispers* Summer...

The Gentle Art of Knitting...
Today I wanted to go out in the garden and tidy up a bit but even though the sun was shining the wind was bitter so I thought better of it... Besides which it's *that* time of the month and, to be honest the thought of doing anything other than curl up in a ball and drink tea quite frankly made me feel ill. The Other Half was camped on the sofa with British Superbikes on the TV (6 hours of it no less...) and the Little Man was alternating between running about like a loon and using me as a climbing frame.
But instead of feeling sorry for myself I decided to snuggle up in bed...
With a good book, of course.

Dynamic Views no more...
Ok, so I have been fiddling a lot with this blog since I got my laptop back in February.
I do apologise.
I had tried the new Blogger template 'Dynamic Views' when they first released it but didn't like that fact that it removed ALL my sidebar gadgets - you know the lovely followers bit, the badges, the blog archive and the tags. All they had included was the email subscription tab. I felt it took away the character of the blog, After a week or so I went back to my old template.
That said I did like the clean lines. It looked different to all the other bloggy templates out there...

Coconut Ice is nice...
A few weeks back I allowed myself to be talked into running a cake and treats stall at The Shambles Easter Fayre in Newent. (Unfortunately, thanks to the fabulous Easter weekend weather, it was a bit of a washout - as you can read here)
I love baking, especially sweet treats, so it's not really a hardship. I thought I would use the opportunity to try something new...

A little something spotty for me!
I spend an awful lot of time making things for other people - either as sales from my website, stock for shops or presents for friends and family. This weekend though, I decided it was time I made something for me!
So I did...
Can you guess what it is?
Maybe a little more...?

Easter Market Cake Stall
If you follow me on Twitter you'll know that I have been a busy bunny this week making lots of lovely scrummy things for a cake stall at The Shambles Easter Market in Newent. Indeed, at 10pm last night I was still decorating gingerbread men and printing off little price cards...
The weather was not promising - last time I checked the forecast it looked like a hat, scarf and fingerless mitten kinda day. When we woke up this morning it looked more like it was gonna be a wellies and umbrella kinda day.
Actually, if I'm really honest, it looked like a 'forget about the market and spend the day under the duvet' kinda day...
But all those muffins, gingerbread men, bags of fudge and coconut ice were all packed up and ready to go. So go we did...

More on Monday... it's all in the detail
Have you ever looked at a bee's wings? I mean really looked? No? Me neither. To be fair they are usually buzzing at such an extreme speed they appear as little more than a blur.
My Silent Sunday post yesterday was an extreme close up shot of a bee wing (you can see it here, if you missed it...) and I am particularly proud of it. But I confess I did cheat just a teeny bit...
